Features

Manage your Voicemail

Voicemail:

Voicemail

Click On to activate and let Voicemail take messages when you're not home or on another call.

Click Off to deactivate Voicemail from answering and to stop receiving new messages. Deactivating will not erase your personalized greeting or messages currently in your inbox.

Number of Rings

Change the number of times your phone rings before Voicemail picks up.

Message Recording

Your Voicemail will act as your answering service but it won't take messages. Message Recording is a good choice if you're away for an extended period and don't want to check messages. You can turn off Message Recording if you do not want messages accumulating in your Voicemail.

Change PIN:
4 to 14 digits

Enter four to fourteen digits to change the PIN you use to access Voicemail on your phone.

If you enable PIN authentication, you will be required to enter your PIN code on your phone to access your Voicemail.

You may add up to 3 additional voicemail boxes to your account that can be accessed by callers by dialing 1, 2, or 3 during your voicemail greeting.

When accessing Voicemail from your phone, this is the language that will be used in the voice prompts.

Autoplay:

Click On to skip the main menu and start playing your new messages right away when accessing Voicemail from your phone.

Message Envelope:

Message Envelope

When accessing Voicemail from your phone, Message Envelope will provide details about each message before it starts playing. You'll learn the caller's number and the date and time of the call.

Listening Order:

Listening Order

Change the order your messages will play when accessing Voicemail from your phone. Choose between hearing the oldest or most recent messages first.

Notifications

Message Waiting Indicator:

Message Waiting Indicator

Enable or disable notifications that you have new voicemail in your master mail box. Message waiting indicators are not sent for any family mailboxes. You must select at least one of the checkboxes, otherwise you will not receive any notifications even if this option is turned on.

Flash Light On Phone

This feature is available for light-ready phones only. It enables the light to flash, indicating you have messages waiting.

Stuttered Dial Tone

This feature changes the regular dial tone to stuttered tone, indicating you have message(s) waiting.

Email Notifications:

Enter up to five email addresses and we will send your Voicemail messages to your email inbox and notify you when you have new messages or when your mailbox is full or nearly full.

Click On to activate and enter up to 5 email addresses.

Manage your Greetings

Basic Greeting:

Basic Greeting

Select which Basic Greeting you would like callers to hear when they reach your voicemail. You can also listen to your current greetings and change your Primary or Secondary greeting by uploading an audio file from your computer. Uploaded files must be in MP3 or WAV format and must be smaller than 3 MB.

Absence Greeting:

The Absence Greeting feature allows you to override your usual Basic Greeting for a specified number of days. This feature can be helpful when you are away for an extended period of time, such as on vacation.

Scheduled Greetings

Scheduled Greetings allow you to override your Basic and Absence Greetings on designated days of the week and times of day. For example, a business may wish to play a different greeting during the evenings and weekends when they are closed. You can create up to five different Scheduled Greetings and upload a unique audio file for each of them. Two different Scheduled Greetings cannot be in effect at the same time on the same day of the week. Uploaded files must be in MP3 or WAV format and must be smaller than 3 MB.

Call Forward:

Have your calls forwarded to another number. Click On to activate then enter a destination phone number.

Once your number is saved, local and long-distance numbers will appear as 1 + area code + the number. Only Canadian OR US numbers can be added, International calling destinations will not work with this feature. If you chose a long-distance number, you will be charged at your plan's rate.

Simultaneous Ring:

Simultaneous Ring

When you enable Simultaneous Ring, all incoming calls to your Shaw phone will also ring on the numbers you choose. Select up to 4 different numbers - work, cell, or any other number.

All numbers are saved as 1 + area code + the number, and if you choose a long-distance number, you will be charged at your plan's rate. International destinations will not work with this feature.

Call Waiting:

Call Waiting

Call Waiting lets you know when you have another call. Put your first call on hold and answer the second or let it go straight to Voicemail. You can disable Call Waiting for a single call by dialing *70, listening until no further beeps are heard and dialing your call. Call Waiting will be restored when you hang up.

Busy Redial:

Our network will monitor a busy line and call you back as soon as the line you're calling is free.

To activate Busy Redial after hanging up from a busy call, dial *66.

To deactivate Busy Redial, dial *86.

1-900 Dialing:

1-900 Dialing

You will need to enable this feature to place calls with a 1-900 prefix - Shaw disables this feature by default and sets it to the OFF position.

If you would like to place 1-900 calls, you need to set the feature to the ON position. Please note that all 1-900 calls are billable to your account.

Selective Call Blocking:

Keep unwanted callers from getting in touch with you. Click On to activate and enter up to 30 numbers from which you do not wish to receive calls.

Anyone trying to call your phone from a number you have blocked will hear a recording advising them you are not accepting calls from their number.

Once a number is saved, local and long-distance numbers will appear as area code + the number. International calling destinations will not work with this feature.

Anonymous Call Blocking:

Reject calls from unidentified numbers. Click On to activate and you won't receive calls from private or unlisted numbers.

Rejected callers will hear a message that you are not accepting calls from unidentified numbers. They will need to hang up, unblock their number and redial.

Do Not Disturb:

The Do Not Disturb feature lets you divert all incoming calls to an announcement that notifies the caller you are not accepting calls at this time. Your phone will not ring.

If you subscribe to Voicemail on this phone number and would prefer to have your calls forwarded directly to Voicemail, turn on the Call Forward feature on the Calling tab and select "Forward to Voicemail".

Hide my Identity

This feature allows you to hide your identity when making an outgoing call. You can either hide your name, or both name and number.

If you choose not to hide your name, the hide number option will be unavailable. Click ON to hide your name/number.

Pin Login:

Pin Login

Enable login to the phone portal with your phone number and voicemail pin.

Hunt Type:

Hunt Type

Change the behaviour of your multi-line hunt group.

Linear - Hunting starts with the member phone that was called and continues in sequence until the last member in the hunt group, where it stops. If the call was not answered, it is sent to voicemail.

Circular - Hunting starts at the member phone that was called and continues in sequence until the last member in the hunt group, where it then circles around and continues with the first member of the group until the called number is reached. If the call was not answered, it is sent to voicemail.
